John MacInnes Memorial Scholarship

Purpose:

To honor those outstanding men & women who have devoted their time & efforts to the musical organizations at Michigan Tech.

History:

The scholarship is named after John J. MacInnes (1925-1983) who coached the Michigan Tech Varsity Ice Hockey team from the 1956-57 season to 1981-82 season. While coaching he compiled a record of 555-295-39 which makes him the winningest coach in college history, in addition he also led Tech to 3 NCAA Division I titles and was named NCAA coach of the year 2 times.

Amount:
One $250 Scholarship awarded each spring semester paid to student's MTU account the following fall.
