Where We All Come From

The History of Zeta Chapter

Our chapter was founded to honor those men and women at Michigan Tech who devote their time and efforts to the various musical organizations we have, including the Pep Band, Wind Symphony, and numerous jazz ensembles and dance groups. We also aim to spread interest in music at Tech, which, despite its prevalence of engineering and science curriculums, has a very strong music department. Advancing music to its proper place as an educational subject is a responsibility we take seriously.

One of the purposes of any fraternity is spreading brotherhood among its members, and we are no different. Through countless rushes, parties, socials, and other events, we strive to bring the musicians of Michigan Tech together.

We may have many fun times together, but our purposes of service and advancing music within the community are not forgotten. We participate in many events and projects to accomplish these purposes. These include ushering at musical and theatrical performances at the Rosza Center, placing posters advertising for upcoming events, an annual spaghetti dinner, and many others.

Though a passion for music is a requirement of Mu Beta Psi, anyone is invited to join us regardless of major. If you are interested, we recommend you attend one or more of our rushes to get to know us better.
